The Santa 4-Port Hub Christmas Gadget - Review and Giveaway
Because Christmas is near and you’ll be busy looking for some unique gift ideas for your family and friends, Budget Gadgets thought in sending us a new product for review and one to give away. If you don’t remember, BudgetGadgets gave us the thermo-hygrometer we reviewed back in July.
Now I’m going to show you another gadget that would make a cute toy, a laptop accessory and a great Christmas gift. It is not a new gadget on the market, but seems to remain among popular Christmas-themed products every holiday season.
The Santa Clause 4-port hub works like any other laptop hub, by plugging into one of the computer’s free USB ports, allowing you to attach up to four more devices and use them simultaneously. Using the USB interface the hub is plug-and-play, meaning you won’t have to install any software to make it automatically detectable by the computer. USB devices you can attach to it can include computer mice, keyboards, printers, Bluetooth adapters, cell phones, media players, digital cameras and the common USB flash memory sticks.
These are automatically detected by the computer and you can use them right away to transfer files between them and the laptop.
One cool thing I like to tell you about is that the Santa 4-port hub here has a glossy finish and starts to flash in different colors as you connect it to the laptop, glowing in red, green and blue, which would make it a nice decorative object on your desktop. It is small, measuring 99 x 53 x 99 mm at 61 grams, and I guess kids would love it too.
